About our School

Lara Elementary School is the government’s main provider of free and equitable basic education to the children of Barangay Lara, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Our main function is to help the children in our community develop into learned, productive and responsible Filipino citizens.

Under the mandate of the Philippine Constitution and the administration of the Department of Education, we respond to every Filipino child’s right to be educated at the basic level. We have started applying the K-12 system signed into law several years ago in order to enrich the overall quality of education in the country.

Our administrators, faculty and non-teaching staff stand hand in hand with the parents, local government units and the DepEd to provide the best training possible for our students. Our hope is that they will grow into Filipino citizens with sound minds, bodies and characters to help move the Philippines forward to a greater future.

Lara Elementary School envisions itself as a center for academic development in one of San Fernando’s smaller barangays. We consistently endeavor to provide the best instruction and educational environment we possibly can in order to render holistic education that allows our students to grow up into citizens who are a credit to the nation. With our authority and resources, we work to bring about positive change to the Philippines one learner at a time.

Lara Elementary School is tasked with responding to every child’s right to access free and quality basic education. It is our conviction that the Filipino people can only go so far as the education of its population takes it. In light of that, we combine proven teaching methods, classroom management techniques, character-building lessons, academic instruction and effective teaching materials to form a robust and inclusive academic program that provides every learner a greater chance at a better life.

Under the DepEd’s directive, we work to provide our students a learning environment where:

• Students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating environment.
• Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner.
• Administrators and staff, as stewards of the institution, ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen.
• Family, community, and other stakeholders are actively engaged and share responsibility for developing life-long learners.

Our objective is to produce graduates who are not only academically competent, but are also of fair character. These two qualities are the hallmarks of every good citizen that can impact the nation in a positive way from the grassroots level.

Consistent with the values identified by the Department of Education, we uphold the following principles and do our best to instill them to our students through our curricular and extra-curricular activities:

We consider these values as foundations and guiding principles that shape the philosophies and motivations behind our teaching. With the help of the parents and the local community, these values can be engrained into every child to develop personalities that make up good citizenry.
